My top priority is to create jobs in Greater Arizona. I am working closely with our local communities and small businesses to create sustainable, good-paying jobs. Two low-cost job creation projects I am fighting for are the Copper Basin Jobs Project and the Four Forest Initiative. The Copper Basin Jobs Project would generate over 2,500 jobs and revive the Copper Region and the state in these tough economic times. The Four Forest Initiative would generate hundreds of jobs and take advantage of a unique partnership between industry, the environmental community, and local and state elected officials. These projects will create thousands of good paying jobs with little or no cost to the taxpayers, but they require the federal government to take action. They are prime examples of how to create jobs without the unnecessary use of tax payer dollars.
In addition to these major projects, I will continue to push for common sense ways to jump start our small business community. We can do that through tax credits, tax cuts, streamlining the process to apply for and receive loans, and intervening on behalf of small businesses when dealing with banks that won’t work with them to keep their doors open. I also successfully negotiated a deal between the Yavapai County Fairgrounds and the Department of Agriculture, maintaining local control of the business and creating jobs for local families. I pledge to continue working for Arizona by fighting for small businesses and projects that will bring good paying jobs to our working families.
