FLAGSTAFF – The Kirkpatrick for Arizona campaign announced today the White Mountain Apache Tribe has endorsed Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick for re-election.
“Ann has always been a strong advocate for the issues that matter most to the White Mountain Apache Tribe,” said WMAT Chairman Ronnie Lupe. “She helped us to develop a reliable, clean water source for our community, fought to improve our roads, and has been a key voice for our veterans while helping to reform the VA. For those reasons and many others, we fully support Ann for re-election.”
The Tribe based its endorsement on Kirkpatrick’s deep roots in the district, her dedication to fighting on behalf of Native American veterans, and her leadership on adding protections for Native American women in the Violence Against Women Act.
“I have deeps roots to Whiteriver and with the White Mountain Apache Tribe, so this endorsement is a great honor,” said Kirkpatrick. “I have proudly worked with the Apache for years on everything from water rights to tribal sovereignty, and I will continue fighting on their behalf."
The White Mountain Apache Tribe joins more than 70 current and former elected officials and community leaders in supporting Kirkpatrick’s re-election.
