Kirkpatrick Fights to Keep Promises to Seniors on Social Security COLA–Calls on Gosar to Join Her

PRESCOTT, AZ –The Social Security Administration is expected to announce tomorrow that there will be no cost-of-living increase for the second year in a row for folks receiving benefits. Fortunately, the people of Greater Arizona have Ann Kirkpatrick making their voices heard in Congress, and she is stepping up once again to fight for our seniors.

In 2024, Ann helped make sure everyone on Social Security received a $250 one-time payment to keep pace with the rising cost of basic needs. This year she’s co-sponsoring a bill to do the same, and she helped successfully push Congressional leadership to commit today to vote on the legislation before the end of the year - getting those benefits sent out as soon as possible.

Paul Gosar has claimed he wants to protect Social Security, but he’s proposed $73 billion in benefit cuts, questioned its constitutionality, suggested that seniors should just work until they die and accepted support from corporate special interests that want to hand the program over to Wall Street. So here's the question – is he just posturing for Arizona seniors alarmed by his plans to end Social Security as we know it, or will he commit to joining Ann in demanding these payments?

Ann knows that seniors in Greater Arizona count on Social Security, and she’s fighting to make sure Washington keeps its promises to them. Folks here trust her to do the right thing,” said Kirkpatrick campaign manager Carmen Gallus. “Seniors are frightened by Paul Gosar’s out-of-touch proposals to dismantle Social Security, and they’re not buying his attempts to cover his tracks.”

Paul either needs to join Ann in her tireless efforts to protect folks on Social Security or admit that he’s answering to his Wall Street pals and not District One’s seniors.
