Ann Kirkpatrick’s Record of Delivering for Greater Arizona


Over the course of her first term, Ann Kirkpatrick has fought tirelessly to get things done in Washington for Greater Arizona—and she’s succeeded, repeatedly earning critical victories for our communities. She’s taken on President Obama and congressional leadership in both houses and on both sides of the aisle and won time and again.

Here are a few of Ann Kirkpatrick’s major accomplishments for District One in her first two years in office:

CREATING AND SAVING JOBS AT LITTLE COST TO TAXPAYERS:

•    Secured critical federal support for Four Forests Restoration Initiative, which will put more than 600 people to work and reduce the risk of wildfires with little taxpayer money
•    Made Department of Agriculture come to the table and reach an agreement to keep the Yavapai County Fairgrounds up and running under local control, saving over 300 jobs
•    Pushed measure into law closing ‘black liquor’ tax loophole, protecting over 300 jobs in the White Mountains – and saving taxpayers $25 billion
•    Established new health care job training program for San Carlos and Gila County

SECURING THE BORDER:

•    Helped push House and Senate back into session to pass $600 million border security package that expands the U.S. Border Patrol and provides other critical border security resources
•    Successfully pushed White House to deploy National Guard troops to the border

RESTORING FISCAL DISCIPLINE:

•    Earned more co-sponsors for congressional pay cut bill than for any previous pay cut effort, and led by example, writing back 5% of her pay check each month to pay down the debt.
•    Passed bill through House ensuring unspent congressional office funds will be used to reduce budget deficit – and returned more than $150,000 of her own office’s money

SUPPORTING OUR LAW ENFORCEMENT:

•    Successfully advocated for Navajo County to be included in critical HIDTA anti-drug trafficking program
•    Helped prevent White House from eliminating SCAAP, one of the few programs reimbursing states and local governments for costs of dealing with federal failure along border

KEEPING OUR PROMISES TO OUR VETERANS:

•    Led successful fight against White House proposal to charge Veterans' personal insurance for care of service-related disabilities
•    Passed bill into law to help disabled Veterans and their families keep up with the cost of basic needs
•    Passed measures into law to help rural Veterans access quality health care
•    One of just 20 Members of Congress to earn the highest possible rating from Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans Association for her leadership on behalf of our fighting men and women

SERVING OUR TRIBAL COMMUNITIES:

•    Passed measure into law ensuring that Native American Veterans are not denied housing support because of their service
•    Passed measure repealing Bennett Freeze law that prevented tribal families on 1.5 million acres of district from making basic improvements to homes or growing economy

PROTECTING OUR SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS:

•    Earned NRA “A” rating in 2024 for her work to protect our second Amendment rights
•    Helped lead successful effort against Administration plan to reinstate failed “assault weapons” ban
•    Helped push through amendment expanding Second Amendment rights in national parks

MAKING THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WORK FOR GREATER ARIZONANS:


•    Aided more than 500 constituents in dealing with federal government and banks through casework
•    Helped recover over $2.1 million from federal government for Greater Arizona taxpayers
